the Amazing Race

I love watching Amazing Race which comes on AXN. Starting with the ad showing an arrow going around madly and the music, I love the show till the end. It's better to say that I am totally engrossed as it keeps your adrenaline high. What's different about this reality show is that the contestents do not have to vote people out. Rather people are sent out based on their performance. And it's a team based thing. The collection of teams is also interesting- a husband & wife in one, a brother & sister in another and 2 gym buddies in yet another....By the way it's on air every Thursady night.....can't wait to see the next episode:(

Beowolf

Saw Beuwolf on the big screen. It's good. But somehow i don't like their performance capturing technique thaaaat much. I think nothing can make up for real human beings. The story is engaging . You can defintely see it once....Directed by Robert Zemkis it has Anthiny Hopkins, Angelina Jolie & Ray Winstone. And of course John Malkovich...

Roopa's Soulful Singing!!!

I just love how Roopa sings. She is a contender for the Superstar Global contest which is being aired on Amritha TV. I don't know whether she will eventually win since this is based on SMS votes, but she definitely has a bright musical future!!! All the judges also go gaga and are usually left speechless just like everyone else... There is a ceratin quality to her singing which is very soulful which takes you to a different plane altogether... The first time I heard her sing...I just heard her from another room and just had to -had to see who was singing....Here's wishing her the very best & I do hope she goes home driving that Merc!!!! But at times I wonder, wouldn't a house have been better???-

Vivien Leigh

I was thinking of Deborah Kerr & ended up searching for Vivien Leigh. I think I will always remember Vivien's portrayal of Scarlett in Gone With The Wind...When I saw it for the firat time, I really did think it was one of the most romantic movies ever....Clark Gable & Vivien made such a good pair & ofcourse the story by Margaret Mithchell. She looked soo good. Here are some links:

A bit of Chocolate

I saw the malayalam movie chocolate last saturday...we were not late.yet we din manage the balcony & had to be happy sitting down and back....Yes it was housefull...The movie stars Prithviraj,Samvratha & others...Directed by Shafi, it's a total entertainer. The movie is not exceptional for storyline or music. The songs reminded me of Classmates. But i enjoyed myself thoroughly....

Batman

I chanced upon batman as it was the only one that started at that time and the cast caught my eye. I must say it is well made. But I could feel the strain on my face as the only light moments were when Jack Nicholson appeared as the bizarre and loony Joker...These were the only light moments in the film. Michael Keaton was a good batman and Kim Basinger did look good. But what strikes you is that the movie is dark, the scenes being connected with dark alleys, bats, night time and so on and so forth. Very few shots with daylight. This can be a bit depressing. But the very next day I saw Ghost rider ( more of this later)which confirmed my belief that Batman is well made and the actors convincing.

Blood Diamond

Quite Fantastic!!! The more I see of Leonardo the more I like him. He definitely knows how to steal the thunder. There was Titanic, The Aviator and now this!!!
The movie does have a bit o gore, what with the realistic portrayal of the ill treatment in the diamond mine. But you know they are not showing it for the kicks!!!
The story has a good ending with good winning over evil eventually, kind of thing in the background. It's definitely a must see movie!!!
